Policies

We’re so excited to be part of your special day! To ensure a smooth and memorable experience for you and your guests, please review our policies and procedures below.

1. Booking & Payments

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date and time. This ensures we reserve all services, vendors, and necessary arrangements for your elopement.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 30 days before your elopement date.

  • Last-Minute Bookings: For elopements booked within 30 days, full payment is due at the time of booking.

  • Payments can be made via [credit card, invoice, etc.].

2. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Deposits are non-refundable as they secure your date and our services.

  • If you cancel 30 days or more before your scheduled date, any payment made (excluding the deposit) may be refunded.

  • Cancellations made less than 30 days from your elopement date are non-refundable. However, we are happy to reschedule your date based on availability.

  • No-shows will forfeit all payments made.

3. Rescheduling Policy

  • We understand that unexpected things happen. If you need to reschedule your elopement:

    • More than 30 days before your scheduled date: No additional fee will apply.

    • Less than 30 days before your scheduled date: A rescheduling fee may apply based on vendor and service availability.

  • We will do our best to accommodate your new date, but availability is not guaranteed.

4. Weather Policy

  • For outdoor ceremonies, we always have a backup plan in place in case of bad weather.

  • In the event of rain, we can:

    • Move the ceremony to a covered space or alternative indoor location.

    • Reschedule your ceremony based on availability (a rescheduling fee may apply).

    • Proceed with the ceremony using clear umbrellas or covered space if the couple agrees.

  • If severe weather prevents the event from happening, we will work with you to find a suitable solution.

5. Guest Limit

  • Our elopement packages are designed for intimate ceremonies, which means:

    • Most packages allow up to 10-20 guests depending on the location and package selected.

    • If your guest count exceeds the maximum, additional fees may apply, or a venue upgrade may be required.

    • We ask that all guests arrive on time to ensure the ceremony flows smoothly.

6. Timeframe & Punctuality

  • Ceremonies are scheduled to begin on time. We ask that you and your guests arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled start time.

  • Late Arrivals: If you are more than 30 minutes late, we cannot guarantee the full length of your ceremony or photography session.

  • No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the elopement will forfeit all payments made.

7. Photography & Videography

  • All of our elopement packages include professional photography.

  • Outside photographers are not permitted since photography services are already included.

  • Lowcountry Vows has explicit permission to share your photos on all social media platforms, Google, Yelp, and other relevant business pages. No exceptions will be made unless provided in writing.

  • If you'd like to add a videographer, we can recommend trusted vendors or accommodate your request.

8. Marriage License Requirements

  • It is the couple’s responsibility to obtain a valid marriage license before the ceremony.

  • We will guide you through the process, but we do not provide or issue marriage licenses.

  • Failure to obtain a valid marriage license will prevent us from legally officiating your ceremony.

9. Ceremony Duration

  • Most ceremonies last 10-15 minutes, but the full experience (including photos, setup, and post-ceremony moments) typically lasts 1-2 hours.

  • If you’ve booked additional time for photography, styled setups, or add-ons, we will communicate the updated timeline with you.

10. Decor & Setup

  • If you’ve booked a styled elopement that includes decor, we will arrive early to set up before your ceremony starts.

  • Any additional decor, personal items, or special touches are welcome, but we ask that you notify us in advance to avoid timeline conflicts.

  • Decor may be impacted by weather, venue regulations, or location restrictions, which we will discuss with you beforehand.

11. Travel & Location Restrictions

  • Our standard elopement packages cover locations within Charleston, Summerville, and nearby beaches/parks.

  • Travel outside of this radius may incur additional fees.

  • Certain venues or public spaces may require permits, which we will assist you in obtaining if necessary.

12. Legal Ceremony Requirements

  • We will perform a legally-binding ceremony as long as you have obtained a valid marriage license.

  • If you would like a symbolic ceremony without legal documentation (for vow renewals or commitment ceremonies), we can accommodate that.

  • Please confirm your ceremony preference when booking.

13. Alcohol Policy

  • If you’ve added a champagne toast or celebratory drink to your package, we’ll ensure it complies with local regulations.

  • Alcohol is not permitted at certain public parks, beaches, or venues. We will notify you if your chosen location has restrictions.

14. Vendor Partnerships

  • We work with a network of trusted vendors for florals, hair/makeup, transportation, and more if needed.

  • If you'd like vendor recommendations or full coordination, let us know during the planning process.

15. Communication

  • We’re here for you every step of the way! Once you book your elopement, you’ll receive:

    • A confirmation email.

    • Planning details and timelines.

    • A final consultation before your wedding day.

  • You can contact us anytime via email, text, or phone if you have questions or need assistance.

16. Emergencies or Unforeseen Circumstances

  • In the rare event that we are unable to perform your ceremony due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, we will:

    • Provide a licensed backup officiant to perform your ceremony.

    • Assist in rescheduling if possible.

    • Offer a full refund for services not rendered if no alternative is provided.

17. Final Confirmation

  • One week before your elopement, we will confirm all final details (time, location, guest count, etc.).

  • We encourage you to double-check your marriage license, attire, and any personal items to ensure a smooth and beautiful day.

**By booking with us, you agree to these policies and procedures. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out — we’re here to make your elopement stress-free and unforgettable!
